it persists
Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007Know that painting by Salvador Dali of watches melted on the table? Surreal as it can get, yeah. It’s called the Persistence of Memory. And that’s what this song does. It persists. I’ve put off blogging about it, but it’s pretty strong and it’s still there somewhere, coming out when I take a shower. So I’m gonna post the lyrics. Not that this is gonna put a stop to the persistence. It’s a nice sad song.
Sometimes you're right, sometimes I biteWhy is it hard to say what I want when I want?Sometimes I love, sometimes you hateWhy does it hurt to hear what you have to say?
Chances are you'll get it when you stop wantingChances are you'll fall asleep when you stop tryingJust can't lie to myself
Sometimes I doubt, then you back outWhy is it hard to breathe in the same room?Deep down we know why we can't run awayBut why does it hurt to visualize the goal?
Chances are I'll regret when you say good-byeChances are you'll find the way home with or without meJust don't lie to yourself
I go this way, you go that way, wherever we'll find each otherChances are… chances are…
