cure to insomnia

ewan ko lang sa inyo, but this is the new Hanggang Kailan in my head. though i’m quite sure it will not echo as long as the aforementioned song, it’s still beautiful. it’s so sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. i can feel ants crawling all over the lyrics.

good night everybody!

Tulog Na
Sugarfree

there are some instances in life when the rain is trickling on you and your clothes are getting wet spots and you know you might get sick and so might your phone but you just don’t give a shit and continue walking like it’s a fair afternoon. or instances when you’re eating by yourself in a fast food and of all songs your favorite blasts through the speakers and instead of being happy since it’s your favorite you just feel sick. or you’re sitting on your bed looking at your hands and suddenly, why are these tears rolling from your eyes, rolling down, and you catch yourself in the mirror and see that you could pass off as Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer with snot and you laugh and cry at the same time and you just know that you’re crazy.

there are moments when you wish you never discovered something. when the pain is so bad you’re tempted to bang your head onto the nearest wall. when the memory keeps tugging at you like a desperate beggar asking for some change, only you can’t tell it off or ignore it and pretend it wasn’t there. when… you’re desperate yourself. when sadness is an unavoidable accident and you don’t want to run into someone you know, coz just smiling takes a third of your energy.

but despite all this unnecessary torment, you want to kick yourself in the rear, coz inside you know, you just know, that you wouldn’t trade that discovery for the world.

most people i know would associate my name with… ta-da! J-pop. and why not? i haven’t really been discreet about it. well at least if somebody asks me “do you by any chance have a liking for popular Japanese music?”, i don’t say no. :)
the latest song in my head is, not surprisingly, by a Japanese artist. it’s a song by Bonnie Pink and it’s from her 2004 album Even So. i must say that among all the songs in that album, this one stuck to me the longest. i don’t know why but it reminds me of closing curtains at the end of a play; sad.

here is a link to a translation. it’s good, honest. it won’t hurt if we knew what she was singing about right? :)
Last Kiss

this is also the ending theme to the anime Gantz.

the surgeon and the linguist

what’s inside your heart?
if I were a surgeon with the degree
to tinker with that muscle
I wonder if I would find
things that please me

but a so-called linguist
when robbed of words
becomes dumb
That’s exceptional.
You’re exceptional.

so if I could poke your heart open
will I happen to find
those words
you stole from me?

the attack of the boys from Bulacan

they came, they played, they conquered. me at least. seeing Orange and Lemons live last Friday night was great.

an excursion like that and ‘great’ is the only word i have. geez. writing happy is tough.

and now my obsessive brain welcomes the return of the LSS champ, Hanggang Kailan. altogether now.

Hanggang Kailan

Labis na naiinip
Nayayamot sa bawat saglit
Kapag naaalala ka
Wala naman akong magawa

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay nang wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi’y hinahanap-hanap kita

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha
at naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi

Di mapigilang mag-isip
O baka sa tagal
Mahulog ang loob mo sa iba
Nakakabalisa
Knock on wood wag naman sana

Umuwi ka na baby
Di na ako sanay nang wala ka
Mahirap ang mag-isa
At sa gabi’y hinahanap-hanap kita

Hanggang kailan ako maghihintay
Na makasama kang muli
Sa buhay kong puno ng paghihirap
At tanging ikaw lang ang
Pumapawi sa mga luha
at naglalagay ng ngiti sa mga labi

Umuwi ka na baby….

umuwi ka na baaybeeeee….
